Invisalign uses a series of removable, clear aligners that are custom made to fit you. Invisalign works using a series of clear, removable, SmartTrack aligners. Each of these moves your teeth a few millimetres and is worn for approximately 1-2 weeks. As you progress through the series of aligners at home, your teeth will gradually move resulting in the smile you always wanted. You may feel minor discomfort when a new aligner is fitted but this is usually just a feeling of pressure and a good indicator that the treatment is working. As the aligners only work while you are actually wearing them, we recommend they are kept in place for 22–24 hours per day.

Initially, a scan of your teeth will be taken to determine whether the Invisalign system is suitable for straightening your teeth. The virtual 3D treatment plan Clincheck will show you the series of movements your teeth are predicted to make, how they will finally look, and how long this is likely to take.

If confirmed that you are suitable for treatment, you will receive a set of custom made clear aligners which you will need to wear in turn for 1- 2 weekly increments. The aligners need to be worn for 22-24 hours per day.

Length of treatment differs with each case but can range between 3 and 18 months. It is also important that you wear a retainer following treatment.

Treatment is predictable and planned in advance.

You are able to view a projected treatment plan to see how your teeth will look at the end of your treatment.

The aligners are invisible. Unless you point them out no-one will notice that you are wearing them, meaning that you can feel confident and happy when you smile or talk.

There are no metal brackets or wires, as well as being discreet this can help those with allergies.

Retainers are fully removable making it easier to eat, drink and clean your teeth. They can even be removed for a special occasion.

iTero is an intraoral scanner that features a wand, which we move around a patient’s mouth to capture pictures and create 3-D dental images in minutes. The small wand allows them to scan hard-to-reach molars in the back of a patient’s mouth. These scanners are simple to use and the scans they produce are much more detailed than traditional 2-D images. They also have screens which display the digital images in real time.
